This time of the year actually makes me sick. I’ve been getting Black Friday ads and emails for the past two weeks and it starts earlier and earlier each year. ‘Buy more shit for less’ is a rubbish way to treat customers and our precious globe.

I rather keep my prices all year long than overprice the items so can offer you once a year 80% off. In case you didn’t know, that’s usually the case – very rarely big corporations sell things without a profit = money in their pockets.

Even though I can rant for hours on end what is wrong with buying the 2€ t-shirt from the fast fashion chains I’ll just put out few tips that I’ve found useful.

  • Never buy anything just for the sake of buying – think if you really need it or will you actually use it.
  • If it’s super cheap, it’s usually rubbish quality or the company is exploiting someone or the environment to make it.
  • Try to make a sustainable choice whenever buying.
  • Prefer local and independent over big companies every time you can. Even just a card makes a difference.
  • And most importantly, use your brain and think before buying anything!

So, no big sale or huge discounts here and I’m not even sorry about it. I want to make and design things that are sustainable, that can be still be used years from now, that are made without exploiting anyone or the environment. And to make that happen, my prices are not 90% air that I can discount off.

But let me just say that I’m so happy I’m not the only one sharing this thought – you are here reading this and it is just AWESOME. It keeps me going even when the going gets rough to know I’m  on this path not just for myself but for all of us. Thank you for being here, it means the world to me.

You might know that I love giving gifts and that is exactly what I’m going to do today. I’ve hidden three 20% off product discounts in the shop, so three lucky customers will get their order today a bit cheaper. The discounts are added to your cart automatically when you’ve hit the product that has the secret discount on it. And just to be clear, I’m saying that this is a gift as taking the 20% off takes away almost all my profits so it’s like I’m paying you to get the product. I’ll write out the whole price structure out on another day, now I have to run to get my eyes checked.

That’s all, have a colorful Friday!
