Corona precautions & updates

Updated on July 27th 2020

Summer shipping: Shipping is completely free for all orders* worth 20€ or more until the end of August. Starting from July 20th, I will only go to the post office twice a week; on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This will only affect the bigger items, as letter sized parcels I can drop off at mail box down the street while walking Milli.

I’ve been going to the post office only during unbusy hours, which means trying to rush things to be ready by 13.00 every day, which is 4 hours less time to work on orders each day before shipping. I made the decision to restrict my visits to two a week to give myself a little more room to breathe and to keep things running efficiently but safe. Most likely this makes no difference in the delivery times I’ve had all this year, so no need to worry about your order taking extra long.

*(No codes needed, the discount is applied automatically at the checkout. Can’t be used together with bulk discounts.)

Shipping in the pandemic era: If you are isolated at home and can’t leave the house, please let me know at the checkout so I can do my best to make sure your order will be shipped to your door. (Sometimes the post office is just shit and if they decide something, there’s very little I can do to make them change their minds, so unfortunately it is sometimes out of my hands.)

I use our national postal service for shipping and at this time that means I can only ship to the following countries: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, the United States and Vietnam. Note that there might be some delays on orders going abroad, but hopefully just for few days. (Latest additions are highlighted with purple.)

The made on demand -products that are made with my production partner in Latvia are having super long delays at the moment as they are working with less people in their shifts as a precaution and dealing with a huge backlog. They also tell me that some orders might get routed to their USA facility, which means the shipping might take ages too to top the long wait time.

Current production times for Direct To Garment -printing is set at 18 to 23 working days + shipping. This is super long and very inconvenient and my advice would be to not to order these products at this time. If you are more patient than me, they are still up for order in my shop with a large orange tab to remind you of the wait times. I am very unhappy with this situation and I’m looking for a resolution, but for now, it is what it is.

Events & markets: Like most of the events most of this year, all the markets, festivals and design events have been cancelled and postponed to 2021. There is still no word for the events coming up later this year, but luckily there is still one pop up happening and it’s a big milestone for me! I’m one of the designers of Nordic Designer’s Summer Pop Up Shop and you can find LumiWAU items in the shop in Forum Helsinki starting July 6th. I’m super excited to be part of this magnificent group of designers and have my products sold right in the center of Helsinki in a big shopping center! Absolutely fantastic! So if you want to have a little touchy feely moment with the pinkest ever summer collection, head on over!

Stockist & retailers: Most of my stockists have returned to almost normal opening times for now. Find out more info of my stockists here.

My shop will stay open and I am so so grateful to all the orders that keep me afloat and busy.  Even though the worst corona situation is now in the past in Finland, don’t forget the small businesses like mine. I am overwhelmed by all the support I got during the last three months but at the same time I am a bit worried. Being a small business is hard work and just keep in mind that even the smallest purchases make a huge difference – I will stay busy and even the few euros here and there will lead to a bigger stream that means me being able to pay my bills. If you absolutely can’t spare a dime, you can help in other ways – share my rainbows where you can and comment and like my social media posts. This way I can reach out to more people and survive and keep making you people happy. Thank you for your support, it truly means the world to me.

Enjoy the summer magic and stay safe people!
